Finding the Right Records Office
Send a request to the office that keeps the record, since Selma and Fresno County custodians cannot process one another's files:
- Deeds, liens, and county marriage certificates: use the Fresno County Recorder routes listed with Selma public records
- Cases filed by party name: open the Selma court records search and follow the court archive route when needed
- Birth, death, marriage, and divorce documents: compare the Recorder, CDPH, and court paths under Selma vital records
- Registration status and regulated voter files: review Selma voter registration records
- City, school, license, property, and historical lists: browse Selma people directories
- City files that are not online: request an identifiable existing record from the Selma City Clerk under the California Public Records Act
